“Pero para hablar de buenas actuaciones, El Regreso tiene el privilegio de contar con la interpretación de Bárbara Jiménez en el personaje de Amanda, la hermana de Antonio. El personaje crece exponencialmente a través de la narración y Bárbara Jiménez sabe dosificar en cada momento la expresión estudiada y ensayada, el gesto preciso, el tono de voz exacto. Es el personaje mejor construido del guión y la actriz lo aprovecha al máximo: en poco menos de dos horas de película transita de hermana e hija devota a madre cuestionable, de fanática religiosa a amante fervorosa, de la alegría hilarante a la tristeza tácita, pero manteniendo siempre su impronta de mujer enérgica, incluso un poco alocada”
